Clay County Outreach continues to offer DARP (Development Assessment Resolution Program) with 2 slots left open for this fiscal year. This program can provide families assistance by developing a money management plan along with the commitment from the household to trim non-essential spending.
We have mailed out the 2008-2009 Automatically Eligible applications for Energy Assistance to those who are elderly, disabled and on a fixed income. While these are sent to those who qualified last year, if anyone is interested in applying for help with their heat bill, please contact our office for further information concerning their appointment.
Clay County Outreach has a Youth Enrichment program with funding available for our local youth. The purpose of this program is to involve our youth in activities which may include the arts, academics or sports. This funding has been provided through the Clay County Community Foundation for the purpose of giving the opportunity to our youths to tap into talents they may have without the finances to explore possibilities. Please contact the Clay County Outreach office @ 262-7409 to inquire into the simple application process for your child.
Iowa Home Energy Assistance Program applications are now being taken at all UDMO Outreach offices. Clay County residents can call 712-262-7409 to set up their appointments. We will tell them at that time what they will need to bring.
The Clay County Outreach office is currently taking names of families to receive gifts for Christmas. If you know of a family who has found themselves in a crisis situation of any sort this past year and might benefit from this program, please contact us or have the family contact us by Dec. 8th, 2008. We can be reached at 712-262-7409.
