Volunteer

Volunteers are a vital part of communities throughout the nation. In the world of community action their time and efforts play an even greater role as they step in to fill gaps caused by an increased need for services and static or decreasing staff and financial resources. In addition to the basic services offered in each outreach center, individual counties may offer additional programming through community collaborations and fundraising activities. Many of these extra activities would not be possible without the generous support of local volunteers. We also have great volunteer support from the parents involved in our Head Start program.

UDMO is grateful for the support of volunteers in each of the 12 counties in our service area. During the 2006 fiscal year, 2,193 volunteers donated 38,117 hours to various UDMO projects.
